Orlando Science Schools (OSS) is celebrating two students who earned global recognition at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). In May, students from around the world gathered in Phoenix, Arizona, to showcase their STEM research and innovations. Eleventh grader Mahie Patil received a special award that included a $500 prize and a complimentary membership to the American Psychological Association. She researched how artificial intelligence can detect signs of attentional fatigue and provide interventions to help maintain focus. Tenth grader Aarit Dixit earned fourth place and a $600 prize after designing an affordable, field-repairable prototype to support emergency response efforts.
