THE PRIDE OF LAKE NONA: Where Students Lead the Way

May 14, 2026 by Contributing Writer Leave a Comment

Hello Lake Nona,

I’m Nikki Campbell and as the principal of Lake Nona High School, I am filled with PRIDE to be part of this vibrant and flourishing community. Since day one, my vision has always been for every student to leave here as a Lion graduate, inspired and prepared for a thriving future. It is my mission for Lake Nona High School to represent the very best of our community, whether that takes form in academics, athletics, performing arts, community service or through our partnerships with our community middle and elementary schools and local businesses. We are not just a school within this community, we are a reflection of it. With your children as our students, and our students as your children, WE ARE Lake Nona. It is truly a privilege to educate and mentor our students who call Lake Nona home, and we are so grateful for the outpouring of support and partnership we continue to receive.

Just as important as academic and personal growth, I want our students to truly enjoy their high school experience. They only get four years. Because of our students’ passion and involvement, and because of your dedication as sponsors, directors, coaches and mentors, our students have every opportunity to bring that vision to life. Together, we are building something special. We hope to be, and with our community behind us, I know we will continue to be the PRIDE of Lake Nona.

WITH PRIDE,

Nikki Campbell, Principal, Lake Nona High School

Last month, our Performing Arts Department produced and performed the timeless Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Carousel! A total of 192 students and 8 faculty members combined their talents across every aspect of the production – from performing and directing to costuming, lighting and sound – to bring this 165-minute masterpiece to life. Thank you to everyone who made this show possible and to all of the community members who attended.

De’Mari Marsh – one of our Lake Nona Lions – is heading to the National Shakespeare Competition in New York City at the end of April. Back in December, he won our school-based competition before advancing to the regional level against students from Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. There, he won and earned his place at nationals. De’Mari is the third-ever Lake Nona Lion to reach this level of competition. We wish him the very best!

On April 21 and 22, students, faculty, staff and the Lake Nona community came together to celebrate the accomplishments of Lake Nona High School Visual Arts at the Annual Lake Nona High School Art Show. This annual art exhibition showcased various mediums of drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture and two-dimensional art of over 150 students. There were live demonstrations of clay hand-building and wheel-throwing by the extremely talented ceramics students and epic chalk-art renderings of various Master Artists’ paintings from the A.P. Art students and the National Art Honor Society. Thank you to all who participated in this great event.

Last month, we hosted our 2nd Annual Lake Nona Career Expo and were joined by an incredible community of leaders who came out in support of our students. The purpose of the event was to offer guidance for our students’ future careers, showcase opportunities within our vibrant community, and provide exposure to the vast world that exists beyond the walls of our school. Thank you to everyone who supported this event! If you have any questions about how to get involved with our College & Career efforts, please contact Jennifer Gautier at Jennifer.Gautier@ocps.net.

We are excited to host our 2026 Spring Football game versus Boone High School on Thursday, May 14. Kickoff will be at 6:30pm. We will have activities throughout the game for all our community members. We will see you at Nemours Stadium on the 14th.

Our seniors will soon be heading back to their elementary schools to walk the halls in their caps and gowns. Here are the dates below from our Feeder Elementary Schools:

Laureate Park ES – 4/29 @ 2:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

Eagle Creek ES – 5/15 @ 1:45 p.m.

North Lake Park ES – 4/29 @ 2:30 p.m.

*More information will be posted on the ES social media pages*
