“The Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood,” Pastor Rodney Gage shares. “That’s what John 1:14 says in The Message. And I personally believe that is exactly what we’re here to do.” Rodney is the pastor of ReThink Life Church in Lake Nona. He and his wife, Michelle, are well known in the Lake Nona community for their ministry at ReThink Life Church as well as their commitment to helping people live life on purpose. He also is a contributing writer with us here at Nonahood News through his monthly column called “The Winning Family.”
ReThink Life Church is currently held on Sundays at the Performing Arts Center at Lake Nona High School, but Rodney and Michelle haven’t stopped praying and dreaming for a permanent home. This past month, they were incredibly excited to see their prayers and dreams finally come true. On September 30, thanks to caring friends, generous supporters, and many passionate hearts for Christ, ReThink Church closed on 4.7 acres of land. This parcel of land is strategically located at 2550 N. Narcoossee Rd., just 4.8 miles from Lake Nona High School. From the south, it’s located just one mile from Cyrils Drive, which serves as the south entrance to the brand new SunBridge Community, owned and developed by Tavistock.
“After 18 years of starts and stops and relocations throughout the city, God’s faithfulness has allowed ReThink Life to see thousands of people won to faith in Christ at every location along our journey,” Rodney shares. “Many of the people whose lives have been changed are continuing to help write the story of God’s faithfulness and make this dream a reality. We honestly couldn’t be more grateful.”
It seems that ReThink Life is getting this parcel of land at just the right time. Currently, Osceola County is the second fastest-growing county in Florida and the seventh largest-growing county in the nation. This makes Rethink’s new property a strategic location for visibility and accessibility. And with over 50,000 cars traveling by this location daily, this land connects the southern boundary of Orange County and the northern boundary of Osceola County and Sunbridge Community. These are just a few of the distinct advantages that this property will provide to the church and community as they seek to build a 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that will serve as an intersection for faith, family and community to connect. Which means the future for ReThink Life Church in Lake Nona is just getting started.
“My wife, Michelle, and I along with many others have been praying for so long about this, and we can’t wait for this new chapter to begin,” Rodney says. “We’re finally going ‘home.’ We’ve been here all along, but our hope for this new facility is that it will be a beacon of hope in our new neighborhood, for Lake Nona and beyond, and for anyone in need of encouragement, healing and God’s love. We can’t wait to build and open our doors at our new location. We are finally putting our stake in the ground to serve as a permanent place we can finally call home.”
