Riding with Santa

Join us on our very first edition of Riding with Santa (Rodando con Santa/Orlando Edition).
Thru the wonderful sport of cycling, we bring together enthusiast of all levels and backgrounds to participate in a peloton style cycling event in three different groups:
Group A / 52 miles at speeds of 22+ mph / https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/2271698377 / Start time: 7:30am
Group B / 42 miles at speeds of 18+ mph / https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/2271693460 / Start time: 7:35am
Group C / 24 miles at speeds of 15+ mph / https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/2267335192 / Start time: 7:40am
The purpose of this event is to collect new toys. Thus, the most important “action” of your participation is the toy you will need to deliver on registration day in order to participate in this ride. That’s right, a new toy. It is after all a toy collection ride.
One thing is clear though, the toy you bring is of your choosing; we do not ask for a specific toy. When you go out to buy this toy, there will be one that catches your attention and touches your heart. That’s the toy you will bring to register on ride day.
But, the toy is just the pretext. This project consist of three (3) phases. Here’s the breakdown:
– Riding with Santa: Massive toy collection effort done thru the cycling event. Here is where the party begins since not only do we ride, but we also come back to our starting point to enjoy typical puertorican food, music and more…
– Santa’s Workshop: Here we segregate the toys that were donated and assign them to the communities and/or families that we will bring these toys to.
– Act of Random Kindness:This is where the magic happens, on Xmas day from 9:30am to 10:30am, we go to the communities selected to deliver these toys. Whether it’s a big community gathering or what we call the “door to door” impact, we do this within the mentioned time frame. But, we don’t only deliver a toy, we also deliver a message to that child. And it is simple: “We don’t ask for anything in return, all we do ask is that if you feel a strong sense to help someone, you do so as we are doing with you”.

As a token of appreciation for your support, you will receive a commemorative medal signifying your event completion. Your inscription fee also includes; hydration & snacks during the ride at the rest stops, lunch upon return to the starting point and much more.
Last but not least, the American Diabetes Association of Orlando has teamed up with this cause and is helping us in a big way. In appreciation for there support, a portion of the proceeds of this event will be donated to the A.D.A. to help them continue their mission and vision.
