Lake Nona Community Newspaper, Creatively and Independently Produced by the Residents of Lake Nona
Organizers of the national Nathaniel’s Hope non-profit along with dozens of corporate and community sponsors, 120 exhibitors and more than 450 volunteers from throughout the community are in the final stages to launch the 17th annual Make ‘m Smile festival, which is among the biggest celebration of its kind in the nation for “VIP Kids” of all ages from throughout the special needs community.
The 2019 party is Saturday, June 1 from 7:30 am – 1 pm at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando and is expected to draw a crowd of 40,000 including 3000 VIP special needs kids and their families. Among many exciting activities, a major highlight this year includes a one-hour stage performance by hometown celebrity and Top 8 American Idol finalist Alyssa Raghu and her band, Latitude 28, from 11:15 – 12:15 at the amphitheatre. This will be Raghu’s first appearance since the Idol finale.
