GATORS AND SEMINOLES MEET IN TOP-25 TENNIS SHOWDOWN AT THE USTA NATIONAL CAMPUS

The annual rivalry match is part of the USTA’s College MatchDay series

A capacity crowd is expected when the Florida and Florida State men’s tennis programs meet for the fourth consecutive year at the USTA National Campus, as the annual rivalry match has become a staple of the College MatchDay series. The Gators enter the match as the No. 3 team in the nation, boasting a talented roster that returns almost all of its key contributors from last year’s team that advanced to the NCAA semifinals right here in Lake Nona. The Seminoles, ranked No. 22, will look to avenge last year’s 4-1 loss to Florida at the USTA National Campus, yet hold a 2-1 series advantage since the annual showdown shifted to Orlando.

College MatchDay is a series of marquee neutral-site college tennis matches designed to showcase some of the nation’s top collegiate tennis programs. The event is free and will feature a Net Generation kids’ clinic, as well as additional kids activities, live music, specialty food and drinks, games and giveaways. In the past three years, College MatchDay events at the USTA National Campus have attracted more than 15,000 fans.

The match will air live on Tennis Channel Plus and will be rebroadcast on Tennis Channel at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2.
