Halloween Night
By: Leonardo Graziani
One Halloween night a few kids were trick or treating at night. They got candy from a few houses. After that they stopped at a very spooky house where there were cobwebs every where. We knocked, Trick or Treat! The door opened..creak! There was a creepy old looking grandma living in the house. Her eyes as black as spiders, her nose as big as pincochios! She asked us in a crooked voice what year it is. Hmm! Oh yeah 2021! I have been gone for 100 years! As a black car walked by, the old lady took a broom from inside her crooked house and flew away! She was a witch!! She had a hat that was as black as a pencil’s tip. The lady flew right next to the moon so we could see a shadow. We could hear the witch cackling all the way from the moon. She went all the way to the spooky graveyard. She awoke all the pirates, mummy’s, witches and evil skeletons. They all went toward the town! They went to scare all the people in town. After they scared them all they got bored and stopped so they left and returned to their graves. The End!!
THE TALE OF BOAT ZERO
By Brielle Mickenheim
Back in the 1900’s two friends were going to a new boat ride hosted by famous boat maker
Thomas Zero. They got paired with boat zero. Their names were Jenny Mickenheim and Layla
Craine. The girls got on excitedly and sailed out happily until the boat started to sway crazily
until it went upside down. The two friends tried to swim away but it was almost like the boat
wouldn’t let them and they drowned.
2021 John was entering a halloween story contest and whoever won got their story in the paper
and a hundred dollar prize! If he won that money he’d finally have enough for a remote control
drone with the super nice camera and his halloween costume.
“UGHHHH I can’t think of anything to write about it!” John complained.
“Why don’t you write about yourself, that’s scary enough.” Joked his sister Margaret.
“Shut up.” he said casually.
“Or you could right about the train accident, the blood moon, vampire breath, or an
amusement clown attraction or-”
“THAT’S IT!” interrupted John “It’s right in front of me! I’ll write about boat zero!”
“Please and how are you going to get the information?” said Margaret dryly.
“W-well I-i’ll ride it.” stammered John.
“YOU’LL WHAT?” Yelled Margret.“You can’t b-b-because mom will make me go too!” yelled
Margret.
“Wait, are you scared Margaret?” John said happily.
“N-no, it’s just that, they don’t let anyone ride it a-and I don’t wanna get in trouble.”
laughed Margaret awkwardly.
“Fine stay here and do chores.” John knew Margaret hated chores.
“Fine, I’ll go with you.”
Together they jumped out the window and ran off. They came to a stop at The Thomas Zero
boat attraction. All the boats were primary colors. There were fifty boats in all. As they looked
for boat zero, Margaret called John over. There in front of them was boat zero. It was
very different from the rest of them. Boat zero was made out of wood instead of the smooth
shiny plastic like the other ones. It had a red streak painted on it and it looked so chipped
that if you put your bare pinky on it, splinters would sink In everywhere. As they got on, each
of them took a paddle. Neither of them said a word. Suddenly, after a little
riding the boat started to sway and it went upside down! All they could
see was clear water and seaweed. Ok thought John if you’re gonna die enjoy your last pictures.
Now what do I see? Sand, seaweed, two skeletons, Margaret, SKELETONS! Suddenly they
came to life! They swung up pulling them under deeper and deeper until he realized he was
breathing! He went under the sand into a strange place with zeros spray painted everywhere.
“What is this place?” Margaret questioned.
“I don’t know but let’s get outta here!” John commanded. A gray door was in front of them
and a red door. “Let’s go through the red door.” John said. but Margret was already through the
gray door. As he walked in, Margaret was still as a statue. A whole city of skeletons
were staring at them. The worst part was that some of them had human skin as clothes!
“Ohhh look at ‘em that nice beautiful skin, shiny smooth!” said one.
“Are you selling?” said another.
“N-nno.”
“WELL TOO BAD BECAUSE WE WANT YOUR SKIN!” they all said at the same time.
“AAAAAAAHHHHHH”
John and Margaret ran as fast as they could. Stores and shops were everywhere. There was a
skull doctor, bone massages, etc. Skeletons were chasing them around the whole town zero,
with sharp skinners. The town was little with shops that were a pure gray with snow on every
building. The bricks were all in strange designs but pretty. They came to a stop and saw boat
zero at a dock.
“I know what to do. Follow my lead.” John commanded. They got into the boat and sailed off,
leaving all the skin thirsty skeletons behind.
“We’re finally safe.” Margaret said, breaking her silence.
“Not just yet!” John said. As the boat started to sway, they were under water
again. In front of them was the strange room with the two doors. They thought the same thing,
and they both ran through the red door this time. Suddenly Margaret fell on the ground and
slowly raised her head. Standing in front of them were vampires.

Violet the Vampire’s Exciting Night
By Eden Mejia, 2nd grade
Once upon a spooky time there lived a vampire. Her name was Violet. Her fangs were like those of a saber-tooth tiger! She wore a cape — black on the outside and purple on the inside, just like everything about her. One dark and stormy evening, a Vampire Hunter came to her castle. Her friends Gabriella Ghost, Frill Frankenstein, and Molly Mummy were also being hunted. Suddenly the Vampire Hunter pounced out of the shadows. Molly was suddenly tied with her own bandages. She had been captured! Gabriella Ghost, Frill Frankenstein and Violet were still on the run from the Vampire Hunter. Finally Gabriella and Frill told Violet they had a plan. So they huddled together and agreed to hide in different spots. Violet went behind a curtain. Gabriella hid in a wall and Frill pretended to be a lamp. When the Vampire Hunter came by, Violet tripped him. He began to cry. The Vampire Hunter knew what was going on. He was bit by Violet! Now he was a vampire, too. He decided to set Molly free! She was so happy to be free. Violet helped her gather her bandages and put them back in their proper place. Everybody lived happily, or should I say spookily, ever after.
The End
Lovisa Armstrong, 13
The final thing I saw was my alarm clock screen flashing 12:03 before she pushed her long rotting nails through my chest, her other hand pressed to my mouth muffling my screams. I bolted upright, relieved it was only a bad dream, but as I saw my alarm clock read 12:02. I heard my closet door creak open. My breathing started to get really heavy and rigid until I realized that it wasn’t my breaths. As I looked back to the closet I found the door open. No wonder I feel like I open doors in this house way more than I shut them. I debated running but it seems I would be too late. As I glance over my shoulder to the door leading to the hallway I see her, it. The figure crafted of fantasy, her hair the color of moonlight and her eyes filled with liquid gold, were staring at me with pure hatred and that’s when I saw her long rotting claws. I try to let out a scream but nothing comes. We stare at each other for another minute before she takes a step closer to me. By the look in her eyes I could tell she meant to inflict a great deal of pain upon me. The lady opened her mouth “Come here child.” Slightly I shook my head no. I watched as she lifted her hand and muttered something under breath. Invisible hands dragged me towards her, the closer I got to her the longer her nails seemed to become. They must be at least 3 times the size of her spindly fingers. I try so hard to resist the magic pulling me towards her. The witch hisses at me and starts to walk towards me. I shoot my hand out trying to find something, anything to protect myself the only thing i can find is a pair of scissors, it will do. The witch finally moved from the door in an attempt to attack and gave me the opportunity to run. I bolted straight for the door i make it the point where my foot is outside on the other side of the door frame the witch says in a voice cold as death “you can run away but don’t think you can hide from me there isn’t a single place you can go where i won’t find you.” She lets me run and I run and run till my legs give out under me. I am still running till this day. The witches promised remained true, I have yet to face her but soon I will but now I will be ready for her. It seems to be me who everything bad happens to, i’ve never hated the world but it seems the world me.
