Seniors to Receive Emergency Supplies, Food at Monthly Church Pantry
As hurricane season approaches, Senior Resource Alliance (SRA) and the Renacer Foundation are helping the community prepare by hosting a disaster preparedness kit distribution event on Saturday, April 13. The distribution will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. at Christ the King Episcopal Church in Azalea Park, located at 26 Willow Drive.
The emergency kits will contain essential supplies including batteries, weather radios, personal care items and more. The distribution will take place during Christ the King Episcopal Church’s monthly food pantry, while supplies last. While the food pantry is open to all community members, the emergency kits are reserved for attendees ages 60 and up.
“We know too well how natural disasters can impact our community’s most vulnerable populations,” said Karla Radka, SRA president and CEO. “Our goal with this distribution is to ensure that our seniors are prepared with the tools they need to stay safe in the event of an emergency.”
As Central Florida’s Area Agency on Aging, Senior Resource Alliance (SRA) serves as the local resource for seniors in Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Brevard counties. Based in Christian faith, the Renacer Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to advancing public and mental health education within the Hispanic community that facilitates initiatives to alleviate hunger and provide essential services to underprivileged families.
