The Highly Awaited Grand Opening of Pet Alliance’s New Life-Saving Shelter Where Animals Can Heal, Feel Safe and Meet the Families Who Will Love Them Has Finally Arrived.
Pet Alliance is finally home! Central Florida’s “go-to” pet experts proudly announce the highly awaited grand opening of their beautiful new Orlando shelter on Saturday, March 28. Home of the Kylie J. Capri Campus and Edward H. Hensley Adoption Center, the brand-new, 25,000 square foot building allows for enhanced space dedicated to adoption services – including a modern shelter with air conditioning for dogs and cats – and double the medical space to care for ill or injured animals with a state-of-the-art veterinary clinic, which is the largest shelter medical unit in Florida. In addition, the new Orlando shelter has a disease specific quarantine space for dogs and cats to reduce the potential for disease transmission, an outdoor play space, dedicated rooms for neonatal kittens, the ability to support other shelters due to natural disasters and flexible space for Pet Alliance to evolve and grow in the future. Coming soon, the shelter also will have a vegetable and herb garden for enrichment and natural treats and a memorial and serenity area.

“We are ecstatic the time is finally here for us to move into our beautiful, new shelter and open our doors to the public!” says Lindsay Framstead, Pet Alliance interim executive director. “This has been a long time coming for the beloved members of our organization and animal-loving community. We are thrilled to have an incredible lifesaving space that allows for expanded medical care and more pets finding loving homes, and we are extremely grateful to all of our supporters who made this possible. We look forward to welcoming Central Florida into our new home and celebrating soon.”

Construction for the new Orlando shelter by H.J. High began in November 2024. Design is by Borrelli + Partners. Pet Alliance’s “Almost Home” fundraising campaign is nearly complete with just $315,000 remaining to reach their $15 million goal to build the new shelter and allow Pet Alliance to continue providing the highest level of care and support for dogs, cats and pet owners.
