Best Friends in the Nonahood: I’m Not a Wrestler, I’m a BOXER!

Kona, the great-looking Boxer, enters the dog park with her great-looking PAW-RENTS, Hunter and Kayla.  Kona wears a pink collar, and she is one of the most energetic and toughest female dogs at the park. There is an electric energy in the air when Kona appears. The heads  of other dogs perk up when she enters the park at full-speed, and some of them run after Kona but without much luck – she’s a little speedster! Kona has a great skill of enticing the other pooches to follow her into the dirt, and she seems delighted about it.

Kona does not stop running and playing until someone gets too tough with her. But Kona puts up with nothing. She stands on her hind legs and literally boxes other dogs when she needs to. It is adorable and really amazing to watch. However, don’t tell Kona that … she’s a serious Boxer and demands your respect. Hunter, the ever-patient pooch dad, watches her and doesn’t panic.

“She can take care of herself,” he advised … and she does! Kona is not aggressive by any means and would never injure any of the other dogs, but she makes herself known among the pack as they trail behind in her dust. She will, however, stop on a dime to pick up a treat along her run!

“Kona does have a calm and soft side,” Hunter said. She snuggles and sleeps like a good dog – probably  saving her energy for the park and boxing ring the next day.

Kona turned two years old in April and was named after the Hawaiian Island and the brewing company. I  wonder if there is a volcano on that island. Kona has that sort of fiery spirit that everybody loves!
