A dog’s name often has important meaning for the owner’s family. In this case, this puppy’s name truly does hold great meaning. Beautiful landscapes, mountain whitewashed villages, ancient ruins, and beautiful beaches with crystal-clear water describe the Greek island of Naxos. When Tom invited Vanessa on this incredible vacation, she had no idea a marriage proposal was to follow. What a memory! This great memory continues on with the addition to their family. Enter their 8-week-old, newly-rescued puppy who they happily named after their wonderful island visit – Naxos! Naxos frequents our dog park almost every day, and Tom refers to him as the “mayor of the dog park.”
Almost two years old now, Naxos has become close to everyone in the family but especially to Tom and has become his shadow. “Nax,” as he is referred to, is a familiar face at the local Bark Park with his friendliness and speed, joining in on the fun with all the other local pooches. As each pooch displays a fun part of their personality at the dog park, Nax is even funnier at home. He rests his head anywhere and everywhere from a table to a chair or on someone’s leg. Could that be considered a “cat nap”? Very affectionate with everyone, Nax has clearly picked up on their recent loss of a family member, and he provides comfort and lifts the family’s spirits during the day. Many of us know that well.
You cannot miss Naxos at the Bark Park since he’s as friendly as could be and seems to greet all of the PAW-RENTS as well. When Nax barks his friendly bark, one cannot help but wonder if he is saying “Yassou,” which is a friendly hello in Greek. Yassou, Naxos! We love you!
