We would like to welcome our new principal, Ms. Glenna Wyatt, to Stingray Nation. Ms. Wyatt is thrilled to bring her experiences as a teacher and a leader in OCPS for the past 23 years to Sun Blaze. She is eager to meet all of the students, families and community stakeholders over the next few months. We are looking forward to working together as partners to ensure every student has a promising and successful future.
This year’s Oration Speech Contest asked contestants to give a speech addressing the topic, “What is the Greatest American Invention?” Speeches were between three and five minutes long and in the student’s words. Seven talented finalists represented more than 170 fifth-grade students who participated. We want to congratulate all of our finalists, especially Clementina (1st), Arianna (2nd) and Sophia (3rd). We would like to thank our judges, Kevin Cadogan, Charisse Ninah and Monique Rivers.
It’s hard to believe the third marking period has begun. Our Stingray families and students are, without question, top-notch! Our amazing teachers continue to plan and provide challenging instruction for all of our students to continue to learn and grow.
