2020 has been a historic year full of challenges that none of us will soon forget. Through all of it, nona.media pushed hard to be your source of information for our community. We continued to cover news, share your stories, and help our local business get through this difficult time.
There were moments where we thought we would have to make the difficult decision to close but this feeling of uncertainty pushed us harder to continue our mission. We were able to maintain our team while keeping everyone safe and healthy.Everyone worked hard during the pandemic to bring you updated Coronavirus news and information while working from home to make sure that the newspaper continued to be delivered.
The world of video production was sent into chaos, like many other industries. Through all of the challenges, we were still able to produce Public Service Announcements from our local leaders, continue our weekly news show In The Nona, and we even produced two award-winning short films.
Some of the brightest memories we made were the neighborhood parades we took part in: Easter, the 4th of July, 2020 Lake Nona High School Graduation, and Christmas. Decorating “Dot” the media truck was a welcome diversion and it was heart warming seeing our friends and neighbors waving from their porches.
Our mission is to help bring our community together by providing news and engaging content – to tell the story of the Nonahood. This would not be possible without the support of our community, our readers, and our advertisers. You have helped us accomplish a great deal, even in the face of all the obstacles this year presented. Our staff continued to help local businesses find new and exciting ways to connect with our audience. We had a record breaking number of digital subscribers this year and continue to be the leading local news source in Lake Nona. Collectively, we worked hard to add additional platforms and forge additional opportunities to create even more value for our community.
We are all ready for 2020 to end. As we move forward, we promise to continue to be here providing you the news and information that Lake Nona deserves. We thank you for trusting us with this important responsibility. On behalf of all of us at nona.media, Nonahood News, Nonahood Latino, In the Nona, and Nona Connect, we wish you a healthy, happy and promising new year.
Love,
Rhys & Jenny Lynn,
Founders of nona.media and publishers of Nonahood News
