Editor’s Note: This Month in Nonahood News …

April 5, 2022 by Demi Taveras

April marks the start of the second quarter of the year, and there’s so much in this edition to be excited about.

In our Business & Real Estate section, Felicity Mae Gomer breaks down the new Basecamp information center located within the Sunbridge communities. Also in that same section, Natalia Foote gives insightful tips on how to combat decision fatigue in Nonahood News staple “Work Well.” (A wonderful read for me after my last editor’s note.) Finally, Sydney Braunstein discusses the art of interviewing and best practices in order to nail those nerve-wracking job interviews.

This month in Health & Wellness, Dennis Delehanty, who always graciously offers to cover the annual three-day Lake Nona Impact Forum, dives into the 2022 event and some of the topics that were explored in the star-studded panels this year. The USTA National Campus gears up for a few championships that are taking place during the upcoming month. (Go, Knights!) In Education, UCF’s latest partnership with Amazon takes the stage as the university and billion-dollar company work together to provide more accessible education for employees.

Moving on to our Entertainment pieces, Camille Ruiz Mangual’s article on Healing the Heroes of 9-11 highlights the film’s efforts to bring awareness about the TR-P treatment created to help those in uniform suffering from post-traumatic stress. With the 20th anniversary of 9-11 having passed last September, Healing the Heroes of 9-11 makes great strides in spreading information about this impactful treatment by enabling audiences nationwide to view the film for free. An article detailing the new Great Gatsby show arriving at the Orlando Ballet is also featured this month in Entertainment. And to brighten our day as always, we have a gorgeous Goldendoodle in Patty Reber’s “Best Friends in the Nonahood” along with Philip Long’s “Sunny Side Up,” which pokes fun at being directionally challenged by the city of Orlando.

While it goes without saying, our amazing writers contribute so much to Nonahood News each month, and we appreciate them greatly for helping us to share local news and everyday stories happening in the Lake Nona community. On behalf of all of us on the team, we hope you enjoy our April edition!
