Leading global air and travel services provider dnata will establish its U.S. headquarters in Lake Nona in 2022, given the proximity to Orlando International Airport (MCO). The new office will support dnata’s U.S. operation, providing a number of passenger, ground and cargo handling services to over 60 airlines at 26 airports across the U.S.
“Our new, high-tech headquarters will ensure the continued efficiency of our U.S. operation and support our customer-oriented team of more than 3,000 aviation professionals throughout the nation,” said David Barker, dnata’s divisional senior vice president for airport operations. “We’re excited for the opportunity to collaborate with other like-minded aviation innovators in Lake Nona while being minutes from MCO.”
Lake Nona has become a central part of Orlando’s aerotropolis, an airport-centric region that harnesses the different opportunities brought about by aerospace (airport/spaceport). Lake Nona continues to attract leading aviation companies to partake in the contemporary and innovative business environment.
The dnata headquarters will occupy the entire top floor and assume naming rights for Lake Nona’s newest office building located in the Lake Nona Town Center at 13495 Veterans Way. The office features cutting-edge smart building technology such as predictive-tinting windows from View. The fifth-floor office will house 50 dnata U.S. employees with expected growth. dnata’s U.S. team consists of over 3,000 aviation professionals who assist over 18 million passengers, ensure smooth operations of 60,000 flights, and handle 500,000 tons of cargo annually. Employees housed at the new Lake Nona headquarters include the executive team, functional heads, and support functions such as payroll, finance, analytics, equipment, procurement, IT and safety/training. The headquarters will also be home to dnata’s “Training Centre of Excellence,” which they will use for leadership training.
dnata joins BBA Aviation/Signature Flight Support and SIMCOM Aviation, which have both their headquarters in Lake Nona, and Lilium, which is building the U.S.’s first vertiport network with a hub in Lake Nona.
“dnata’s investment in a new, cutting-edge headquarters further positions Lake Nona as the preeminent destination for forward-thinking companies focused on the future of transportation,” said Tavistock managing director Ben Weaver. “We couldn’t be more excited that the home base for dnata’s robust U.S. operation will be here in Lake Nona.”
