Central Florida Company Beutlich® Pharmaceuticals Revolutionizes the Way People Take Pills

March 7, 2022 by Camille Ruiz Mangual

A revolutionary pill coating is changing the way people take medications. MEDCOAT, the latest addition to Beutlich® Pharmaceuticals’ products, is an innovative pill coating that helps medication slide down the throat smoothly and masks any unpleasant flavors. The coating applicator is easy to use and works on pills of any size or shape. Not only does the coating help to cover up bad flavors, but it is also useful for dulling sharp edges of pills that must be halved or quartered. It eliminates the need to take measures that may alter the effectiveness of medicines such as crushing tablets or adding flavorings.

“We all know someone who struggles with swallowing the pills their doctors prescribe or just taking their morning vitamins … and then there are the children who cry because they can’t stand the taste, and people who have medical conditions where swallowing is nearly impossible. These are real problems people face,” said Erlene Thomas, CEO of MEDCOAT® USA. “We wanted to find a way to alleviate those issues, and MEDCOAT® is doing just that by helping people take pills with ease and in the right dosage.”

Some of the benefits of MEDCOAT include:

  • Covers pills and capsules with an easy-to-swallow coating
  • Coating masks unpleasant flavors and gives them a refreshing taste
  • Useful for swallowing large, uncoated pills
  • Contains only food ingredients, does not interact with medicine effectiveness, and is sugar-, soy- and gluten-free
  • Helps patients take the correct dose of prescribed medications by alleviating the need to crush or cut pills
  • Encourages patients to complete their prescribed and non-prescribed pill regimen
  • Allows doctors to prescribe the pill version of medications as opposed to the liquid form, which often has a disagreeable flavor and may be improperly dosed

MEDCOAT comes in three flavors: citrus (lemon/lime), strawberry and cola. Depending on the size of the pills, one applicator can coat up to two pills. Each pouch comes with 10 applicators, coating up to 20 pills. MEDCOAT is available for purchase on Amazon, medcoatusa.com, at select pharmacies, or by calling (888) 832-0322.
