Buddy Dyer Announces First Endorsements for Orlando Mayor Campaign

April 8, 2019 by Kyle Hamm

On April 5th, 2019, the Buddy Dyer Campaign for Orlando Mayor announced their first endorsements from two reputable labor unions in the State of Florida, the FOP Orlando Lodge 25 and LiUNA Local 630.

The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) is an organization that is a designated representative for the Law Enforcement Officers at the OPD. Shawn Dunlap, the President of the FOP Orlando Lodge 25 said “Our decision to endorse Mayor Dyer is based on his views and commitment to improving public safety for the citizens of Orlando and his willingness to engage in dialogue with Orlando Police Officers to develop solutions to the challenges facing our community.”

The Laborers’ International Union of North America Local 630 is a labor union that represents a range of workers in the state of Florida. “It’s an honor and privilege for our members of LiUNA Local 630 to endorse Buddy Dyer as our candidate for Orlando Mayor. It’s vitally important to have someone who is willing to listen to our members and we believe Mayor Dyer is what the City of Orlando needs,” says Ronnine Burns, a Business Agent for LiUNA Local 630.

The City of Orlando has led to be the Southeast’s most sustainable city under Buddy Dyer’s leadership, and Mayor Dyer remains committed to evolving into a world-class city. Initiatives like the Main Street Program have led to creating over 1,000 businesses, and new developments such as Medical City in Lake Nona and Creative Village in Downtown Orlando.
