Move over, Martha! – There’s a New Bread in Town, and It’s Located in Orlando!
If you haven’t heard of Bearside Microbakery, you soon will because the aroma of this incredibly fresh bread will permeate the community. I stopped into the Farmer’s Market that occurs the first Wednesday of each month in Laureate Park Village Center and was immediately hooked once I saw the display of bread and the scents that seemed to call my name.
The greeting from bakers Weronika and Anthony Artica felt like I just ran into family
members. They are the proud owners of “Bearside Microbakery.” Weronika missed the taste of home since she is originally from Poland, and she yearned for the crusty breads that were an important part of her culture. She started baking with the support of her husband and their two young sons, Anthony and Alex. Anthony, who is 5 years old, loves stories about bears, so that is how the bakery got its name.
Weronika’s dedication to baking grew into 50 to 70 loaves a week! I took home the Rosemary/Garlic and now weigh 5 pounds more, which was worth every bite. When I tell you INCREDIBLE, FRESH and WANTING MORE!! Please do not overlook this bread – it is worth every penny!
You can often find Bearside also on Friday nights in the Lake Nona Town Center – Art After Dark. You KNOW it has to be good since my monthly articles are about Dogs in the Nonahood. CHECK IT OUT – THIS BREAD IS NOTHING TO BARK AT!
