USTA National Campus

Having a brand-new, world-renowned training facility of any kind usually, will have positive impacts on the surrounding community.  The same benefits will soon be open the residents of the Nonahood.  In addition to the 100-lighted tennis courts, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus will bring the following amenities for the community to enjoy:

  • Live Streaming Capabilities of Tennis Courts
  • Retail Pro Shop
  • Racquet Stringing
  • Full-Service Restaurant
  • Two Cafés
  • Shaded Pavilions
  • Water Bottle Filling Stations

Although much of the USTA National Campus will be for the community some areas were specifically designed to increase and polish the skills of Team USA players and the University of Central Florida (UCF) tennis team.  In fact, 32 sub-irrigated, green clay “Har-Tru Hydro-Courts” and 20 “Plexicushion Acrylic” cushion hard courts will be used by Team USA. Two of these courts will have seating for 500 spectators.  The Collegiate Center will be for the UCF men’s and women’s tennis teams, and will consist of 12 “Plexicushion Acrylic” cushion hard courts and will have seating for 1,200 spectators.  Other collegiate teams will be competing here along the way, including to six televised “Matchday” events throughout the year.

Ultimately the community will be the big winner, though.  The campus includes The Family Zone, specifically designed for players of all ages who are learning to play tennis.  This area will have eight, 36-foot courts and an additional eight 60-foot courts.  These smaller courts are designed for less experienced players to rapidly learn and grasp the game of tennis.  Tennis programs organized and taught by some of the most experienced professionals will be offered as well.  Detailed information is provided below regarding the programs that will be immediately offered after the campus opens.  The community can register online starting December 20th at ustanationalcampus.com.

One might think that an expensive monthly membership fee will be required for the public to enjoy all of what the USTA is bringing to Lake Nona, however, the USTA will not be requiring a paid membership for the foreseeable future.  There will be an hourly rental fee for those who would like access to use the Team USA and Collegiate Center Plexicushion Acrylic courts and Har-Tru Clay courts, but the Family Zone is completely free.  Reservations to use the courts must be made online at least 48 hours ahead of time.  Court Pricing for the Team USA and Colligate Center areas are:

Team USA and Collegiate Center

  • 60 Minutes = $12
  • 90 Minutes = $15
  • Two Hours = $20

Har-Tru Clay Courts

  • 60 Minutes = $15
  • 90 Minutes = $20
  • Two Hours = $25

Hours of Operation will be Monday – Saturday from 8:00 am – 10:00 pm
and Sundays from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm.
