To Gen Z: Where to Watch This Year’s Fireworks

July 3, 2021 by Natalia Jaramillo

This year, fireworks in large crowds seems to be more likely than last year due to vaccination rates and lower COVID-19 case counts. So, if you want to celebrate with more than just your quarantine bubble, here’s a list of places that are holding Fourth of July celebrations!

Walt Disney World is likely one of the largest firework celebrations on a daily basis, so their Fourth of July display is the best in all of Central Florida. Disney announced they will be resuming nightly fireworks beginning July 1 in the Orlando location and July 4 in California. The Independence Day celebration at Disney World this year will likely be very busy, so ensure you are alright with the amount of exposure as there is still a chance you might catch COVID-19.

SeaWorld will also host a firework show for the Fourth of July. Their nightly fireworks begin July 2-4. You will need to buy a ticket into SeaWorld to watch the fireworks, just as with Disney, but there’s no extra fee to watch the fireworks once inside the park.

If you’re looking for a cheaper way to watch fireworks this year, look no further than downtown Orlando! Fireworks at Lake Eola are an all-day event. Around the park starting at 5 p.m., everyone, including dogs, can sit, eat from local vendors, and celebrate our nation’s independence day.

The closest firework display to Lake Nona is in St .Cloud on July 4. This event also has food truck vendors, but it will feature live music from Harlequin beginning at 5 p.m. The event will take place at St. Cloud Lakefront.

Wherever you watch this year’s fireworks, make sure you are okay with the number of people you are likely to be around. We are still in the pandemic even though the numbers have gone down and vaccines are available. Have fun and celebrate safely after a year of difficulty and isolation!

Happy Independence Day!
