School Update: Moss Park Elementary

May 11, 2020 by Dr. Stephanie Osmond

March was a busy month here at Moss Park!

At the beginning of March, our amazing Moss Park Players, led by the ever fantastic Ms. Jacobacci, performed Frozen, JR. Once again, our Moss Park Players  put on an outstanding performance to sold out shows! Thank you to everyone who came out to see these incredibly talented actors and actresses bring this story to life!

Prior to heading out for spring break, our fifth graders participated in the Modern Woodsman Oration Contest. Students wrote and spoke on the topic “What Freedom Means to Me.” Eight students were selected to move on to our school competition, and of those, the top three students were honored based on a rubric used by our guest judges. Congratulations to all our participants: Briea White (first place), Kaleb Bielski (second place), Reagan Nimeth (third place), Sean Torbert, Larry Lauer, Aubrey Zappas, Helena Kramer, and Jason Rodriguez.

As we had an extended spring break, Moss Park Elementary teachers and staff  wanted to remind the students and families how much they mean to us! We had a parade through all the Moss Park neighborhoods! It was so wonderful to see all the families and students with their signs of support and love!

We have now moved into distance learning, and our teachers and students (parents, too!) have rocked it! It is all new to us, but we have made it work and students are learning and teachers are continuing to build relationships with their students. We couldn’t be more proud of everyone involved! Keep up the good work!
