The weather is cooling and the spooky decorations are going up. That means one thing—Nonahood Halloween celebrations. For those who have lived here a while know just how fun and special this place gets around the holidays, especially Halloween. The newbies won’t be disappointed with several family-fun events as well as excellent Trick-or-Treating in each of the communities.

Health and Halloween – Week 4
October 22 from 9:00 am to 2:00pm at Lake Nona Farmer’s Market located at Valencia College
Celebrate Halloween early this weekend by joining us at the Lake Nona Market! On top of unique vendors, this Saturday includes face-painting, a costume contest, trick-or-treating, and games and crafts for the kids!
2nd Annual Back to Nature Owloween
October 22 from 2:00 to 6:00pm at Back to Nature
Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge will celebrate its second annual Owloween, Saturday, October 22nd from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., complete with Halloween decorations, trick-or-treating, a bounce house, live music, a local vendor market featuring food and merchandise, an incredible raffle, pumpkin patch, children’s costume contests, extended hours to our Wildlife Walk and much, much more!
Enjoy close encounters with creatures of the night presented by both Back to Nature and Fly by Night staff members! Live animal appearances, featuring owls, bats, opossums, flying squirrels and more! Stop by to ask questions, meet the animals and pose for a photo or two! Animal Encounter will be presented in the Education Center throughout the event.
This event promises to be a hoot!
Lake Nona Nights: Crescent Cinema featuring Hocus Pocus
October 22 starting at 7:00pm at Crescent Park
Step outside for our monthly movie night featuring films from all genres and generations. Join us in the park in front of the big screen the fourth Saturday of every month. Featuring: Hocus Pocus Brought to you by Lake Nona, Dais Technologies and Tavistock Development Company.
Spooktacular Pet Parade and Contest at Monday Market
October 24 from 4:30 to 8:30pm at Lake Nona YMCA
Come show off you pets best costume. Be creative and have fun. Get the whole family involved. We will be having a parade at 6:30 followed by awards for best dressed pet to follow.
We will also be featuring some special furry friendly vendors as well.
Bell’s S’mores & Pours
October 26 from 7:00 to 9:00pm at Nona Tap Room
Join Nona Tap Room for some great Bell’s Beers including Best Brown Ale, Two Hearted Ale and Oberon. Buy a beer and pair it with a complimentary S’more or two! Alex from Bell’s Brewery will be serving up the original S’more along with some fun varieties made with Reese’s, Snickers and York Peppermint Patties!
Trick or Treat Spooktacular
October 27 from 5:30 to 7:30pm at Lake Nona YMCA
This is the same event as year’s past but now co-hosted by the Lake Nona YMCA and Lake Nona Kiwanis Club. Bring the entire family for a night of fun! Trick or Treating with community vendors, a costume contest with prizes, bounce house and more! This event is free and open to the community. Event time is 5:30-7:30pm at the Lake Nona YMCA.

Market Bash and Safe Trick or Treat
October 31 from 4:30 to 8:3pm at Lake Nona YMCA
Come to our great market and enjoy a safe trick or treat. Vendors will be handing out candy. We will have a special dance party starting at 6. So many other surprises… Stay tuned. Come out in your best costumes!!
Community Trick-or-Treating
October 31 beginning around sunset
Even though Halloween falls on a Monday night, trick-or-treating will still be held the communities throughout the Nonahood. Typically, the trick-or-treaters begin around or just before sunset and can go as late as 9pm. Make sure you are stocked up on candy!
