Beep and NAVYA to Collaborate with Tavistock’s Lake Nona Community to Activate Cutting-Edge Shared Mobility Solutions Model within the Smart City
Lake Nona Brings First Autonomous Shuttles to Orlando Spring 2019
As of today, February 19th 2019, a new exclusive dealer arrangement has been made for the state of Florida. Beep and their partners Navya are working with the community of Lake Nona to bring the very first autonomous shuttles to Central Florida this Spring.
Beep’s experience in Fleet Management and Technology allows them to provide services from route planning to on-board interactive services, and also provides safe, efficient transportation of passengers.
Navya, the manufacturers of the new autonomous shuttle, is a French manufacturing company that manufactures and commercializes autonomous, driverless and electric vehicles. The Navya AUTONOM Shuttle is the first step in integrating this new technology to the region. The brand-new AUTONOM Shuttle can hold up to 15 passengers and can travel at speeds up to 16mph. The shuttle will only be allowed to travel on fixed routes within the Lake Nona community.
“Tavistock’s continued efforts to bring new and innovative solutions to Lake Nona is part of our mission to create an enriching environment that ensures residents, businesses and visitors have an incredible experience,” said Jim Zboril, president of Tavistock Development Company, the developer behind Lake Nona. “NAVYA’s driverless shuttles and Beep’s autonomous mobility solutions provide an intelligent, fluid, and environmentally-friendly transportation option. We look forward to integrating this new shuttle service into our larger Move Nona transportation plan to make it easy for people to explore Lake Nona.”
The AUTONOM Shuttle will be fit here in Lake Nona perfectly, because this community models what it means to be innovative, sustainable, and technologically advanced. This moment truly defines our community and how we plan to proceed with the future.
Beep is a new company based in Florida that focuses on autonomous mobility solutions. They are delivering services from passenger mobility to fleet operators in the planned community. This includes transportation hubs, medical and university campuses, town centers and more.
Navya is a French company with almost 300 employees in France and in Michigan, USA. Their technologies combine robotical, digital and driving methods at the highest level. The AUTONOM Shuttle launched in 2015, and they have sold over 115 fully autonomous vehicles.
Orlando’s Lake Nona has been and always will be dedicated to building an innovative community to inspire the full potential while focusing on sustainability, healthy living, and ground-breaking gigabit fiber optic technology. This is why the fully autonomous vehicle fits right into the community.
