HCA Healthcare announced their latest union, resulting in what is now called HCA Florida Healthcare. For us Lake Nonians, this means our five Central Floridian HCA-affiliated hospitals, in addition to countless freestanding emergency rooms and healthcare offices, will be rebranding under the HCA Florida Healthcare name. You can expect to see updated logos as well as new names for each center shortly.
While no changes to insurance providers, hours of operation or contact information will occur, each facility owned by HCA Florida Healthcare will now proudly exhibit their new union. They aim to continue their development of patient-focused care. Lake Nona is home to a large number of excellent medical providers, and HCA recognizes the importance of access to a trusted network of doctors and healthcare professionals.
Over 77,000 staff, 11,000 physicians, and 450 healthcare practices unite under the HCA Florida Healthcare umbrella. Though more obviously connected now, each of our state’s medical providers under HCA has always stood solidly by their ultimate mission: “Above all else, we are dedicated to the care and improvement of human life.”
HCA Florida Healthcare continues to care for people in any critical capacity, including nutritionally. Through a partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, the company will help provide vital nutrition for those experiencing food insecurity. During this partnership, HCA will host food drives, provide volunteers, and do some serious fundraising to help keep our people fed and well. Keep an eye on their website for further information and ways in which you, too, can help.
By way of this unifying effort, our local hospitals were renamed on March 3 of this year. Central Florida Regional Hospital became HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital, Osceola Regional Medical Center became HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, Poinciana Medical Center became HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital, and our very own UCF Lake Nona Medical Center became UCF Lake Nona Hospital. Oviedo Medical Center experienced no change in name.
Going forward, the network of over 450 medical centers will be able to cohesively adapt to best practices in the medical industry, improve processes, increase access to care, focus on the shortage of healthcare workers, offer assistance during crises, advance diversity, and partner with nonprofits to better meet community needs. Altogether, the rebranding of these facilities will help them align with the standards and goals of HCA Florida Healthcare.
HCA and its affiliates have served Florida for more than 40 years. The company can do more and can do better as a more comprehensive collective of medical centers and various healthcare facilities under its new brand.
