The South Orlando Rowing Association is a community oriented, volunteer operated, not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization founded in 1986. Our primary mission is our educational program devoted to the development of youth and amateur rowing to promote athletic competition and physical fitness.
Our sport attracts a youth-oriented, high income demographic, that is interested in the outdoors. Race participants are 85% youth (middle & high school age) and 15% masters (professionals working predominantly in executive positions). In recent years, Giblet participation increased to more than 1,000 competitors and more than 4,000 in attendance.
Net proceeds from the Head of the Giblet Regatta support our Adaptive Rowing Program for people with disabilities (www.SoraCrew.com/programs), scholarship program, general operating expenses and fund equipment maintenance.
