Día del Amigo or Friends Day is a worldwide celebration that honors international friendship.
Long celebrated in many South American countries, Día del Amigo was originally inspired by the historical achievement of mankind landing on the moon on July 20, 1969. Since that time, countries have designated unique celebration dates.
This year marks the inaugural Día del Amigo/Friends Day in Lake Nona on the fourth Thursday of July. A day we hope will live on within this community, and beyond, recognizing the importance of friendships.
Friendships are universal. Friends enrich our lives in many ways. Friendships help us find purpose and meaning, stay healthy and live longer. Friendships supersede differences and builds bridges among cultures, countries and ideologies.
Día del Amigo/Friends Day celebrates the importance of these connections and encourages everyone to promote kindness and togetherness.
Whether your friends are near or far, come and celebrate with us in Lake Nona on July 29th. Together, we will enjoy good times with food, drinks, music and entertainment.
We are better together. Together we will inspire a more peaceful culture through friendship.
