Meet Joel Feliciano. Northlake Park residents, Joel and his wife, Jessica, own and operate SUP and Skiff Outfitters located in Lake Nona. As the company name describes, they specialize in the sale of small watercraft (“SUP” stands for Stand Up Paddleboard).

In addition to paddleboards, SUP and Skiff offers kayaks for sale. “They’re just so easy and simple to operate. Anybody can own one and use it anywhere in Florida, especially in the numerous lakes in Lake Nona. We have all these lakes and springs and oceans close to us. We’re in a perfect spot,” said Joel.

SUP and Skiff recently opened their doors in January and are very excited to make their home, Lake Nona, also their place of business. Working and living locally provides the Felicianos a great opportunity to raise awareness among their friends and neighbors of different recreation options, exercise, and entertainment all at the same time. “It’s a very eco-friendly, very active community. I feel like it’s a perfect blend for our company and the customers around us,” Joel said.

Originally from Palmas del Mar, a town on the eastern coast of Puerto Rico, Joel grew up loving opportunities for fun in and around water. Even after moving to Tennessee at the age of seven, Joel was kept busy by his father, who involved him in fishing tournaments and water activities. Joel credits these times in his childhood as a major influence in the decision to start SUP and Skiff Outfitters.

Joel said, “I’ve been here about 14 years now, in Central Florida. It allows me to be even closer to the water because there are lakes and rivers and springs everywhere. I’ve always been drawn to the water, I’ve always done water sports, and I’ve always been into wakeboarding, skiing, going out to the beach. I just generally enjoy water.”

Personalized Service from Local Lake Nona Business

As a company, SUP and Skiff Outfitters differentiates itself from large-scale retailers and large-scale online stores by providing value where others cannot. All purchases made within a 60-mile radius receive free shipping. Additionally, they offer specials that allow customers to package all of the needed accessories (paddles, vehicle/auto racks, bags, etc.) to go along with their new personal watercraft. With Joel’s help, the customer receives the peace of mind that they have purchased the correct accessories to go along with their new paddleboard or kayak. When a customer leaves the store, they have all the appropriate gear to make their next stop a body of water. Additionally, Joel will offer demonstrations so customers can try different products before they make a decision.

As many more outdoor options for entertainment and recreation approach, consider personal watercraft, and see what your local neighbors Joel and Jessica Feliciano have to offer at SUP and Skiff Outfitters.
