SUMMARY:Updated: 10th Annual Wine\, Women & Shoes
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: \nORLANDO\, Fla. (March 26\, 2020) – Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is shifting its 10th annual Wine\, Women & Shoes Orlando fundraiser into a weeklong virtual experience. \nThe decision to cancel the April 18 event stems from ongoing efforts to stop the spread of Coronavirus/COVID-19 by adhering to federal and local requests to cancel mass gatherings. \n“It’s the socially responsible decision\,” said Dave Krepcho\, president and CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. “This event averages more than 500 attendees annually. We have to do our part in keeping our community safe – and it’s our hope that this new format can attract even more supporters who will help us meet the ever-growing need as many industries experience a significant hit.” \nLast year\, the event raised $400\,000\, which allowed Second Harvest to provide 1.6 million meals across Orange\, Osceola\, Lake\, Seminole\, Brevard and Volusia counties. Second Harvest hopes to meet – or exceed – that amount with so many neighbors feeling a direct impact of job cuts related to the Coronavirus pandemic. The need is the greatest it’s been since the Great Recession in 2008. \nThe virtual event will kick off on Monday\, April 13 and end Saturday\, April 18 at 2:00 p.m. \nVirtual “attendees” will still have the chance to bid on items in the silent auction\, and one lucky participant will win a dream closet of designer handbags\, accessories\, clothing\, household goods and more\, as part of the event’s signature “Key to the Closet” drawing. \nVisit www.WWSOrlando.com/ to register\, enter the “Key to the Closet” drawing or make a donation. \n\nPut on your favorite party outfit and get your girlfriends together for a fun afternoon of shopping and wine tasting at the 10th annual Wine\, Women & Shoes Orlando event benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. \nAttendees will be treated to delicious food and wines\, shopping from local and national boutiques\, as well as a fashion show. One lucky guest will win a dream closet of designer handbags\, accessories\, clothes and more – in the signature Key to the Closet drawing. \nAll proceeds from Wine\, Women & Shoes benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida’s mission to fight hunger in our community. \nDarden restaurant group is the presenting sponsor of this year’s event. \nGeneral admission tickets are $150 per person and VIP tickets are $250 per person. Corporate tables are also available upon request.
